Renton School District presents balanced budget for 2008-09 school year

Outstanding Employee award winners celebrated - School Board recognizes winners of this year’s awards
April 17, 2008—Renton School Board members at last night’s meeting recognized winners of this year’s Outstanding Employee awards. The annual awards recognize staff who demonstrate an extraordinary level of job performance, vigorous support for students, professionalism and dedication. The board has presented the award to district employees for 30 years.
High School Graduation Dates
Renton School Board places school construction bond issue on May 20 ballot
March 27, 2008 - Measure to continue long-range construction plan received overwhelming support in March; missed required 60% supermajority by mere 78 votes. Citizens in the Renton School District will vote on a school building improvement bond measure on May 20, 2008.
Renton School District election is Tuesday, March 11
March 7, 2008 - Absentee ballots must be mailed by Tuesday; Polls open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tax rates will not increase with approval of the measures.
Kindergarten Registration Dates
March 4, 2008 - The Renton School District will hold registration for fall entrance to kindergarten on May 5 - 15, 2008.
Old trees at Renton Memorial Stadium removed
February 21, 2008 - Recently, it was determined by a City of Renton-hired arborist that the trees lining the perimeter of Renton Memorial Stadium were too old and diseased to remain in place.

Traffic Safety is now enrolling new students for Spring class
February 7, 2008 - The next session of the Traffic Safety program is as follows: Weekday classes begin Monday, February 25th and run Monday-Thursday through May 8th.

January 8, 2008 - The Renton Community Foundation's “Circle of Giving” campaign will award grants totaling more than $40,000 to Renton teachers and local organizations and causes.

November 8, 2007 - Renton School District conferences are set for November. Parent conferences for all schools are scheduled between November 15 through the 21.

September 7, 2007 - Back-to-school orientation nights are held each year to provide parents/guardians an opportunity to visit their children's schools and classrooms and to participate in group conferences with their teachers.
