Bond election passing with nearly 62% of vote

May 22, 2008—Voters in the Renton School District are approving the School Improvement Construction Bond measure by an overwhelming margin.

After today’s count of mail-in ballots for the Renton School District School Improvement Bond election, the measure is passing with 61.56 percent of the “yes” votes. The measure continues to garner positive support since Election Day, May 20.

The measure will allow the district to continue the long-range school improvement plan to keep school buildings safe and running efficiently for the district’s more than 13,500 students.

Ballots postmarked on Election Day will continue to be counted as they arrive at the Elections Office each day through June 4, when final results will be posted.
