10th-grade WASL scores to be received in homes in early June
Registration for summer WASL retakes set for June 8 thru July 8
May 30, 2007 - Within the next few weeks, high school students who took the spring Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) will be mailed an individual score report with scores on the reading, writing and math tests.
These reports will include important information to help families determine whether students should retake one or all WASL tests in which they did not receive a passing grade. Retake tests will be held at Renton High School this summer. The reports are also helpful in determining whether students attend summer WASL courses to be better prepared to retake tests. Students should check with their high school for summer WASL prep classes.
Students who did not pass this year’s 10th-grade reading, writing or math portions of the WASL can retake tests in early August.
WASL retakes will be administered at
Renton High School library, 400 S 2nd Street, Renton
August 6–9 (see chart below)
To be eligible to take these tests, students must register with the state’s education office online at http://www.k12.wa.us/waslregistration/, or by phone from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon.-Fri. at 1.866.400.WASL (9275). If the student will not be in the area on these dates, he/she can register to take the test at a school in another district.
