High school students who wish to
retake the 10th grade WASL tests have until this Sunday, July
9, to sign up for WASL retakes in August. This is the first
time students will have the option of retaking the Washington
Assessment of Student Learning during the summer.
Beginning with the class of
2008, every student in Washington state must pass all WASL
tests in order to graduate. Students who did not pass this
year’s 10th grade reading, writing
or math portions of the WASL can retake tests in early August.
WASL retakes for the all district students will be administered
at Renton High School on August 7–10 (see chart below).
To be eligible to take these
tests, students must register with the state’s education
office online at http://www.k12.wa.us/waslregistration/,
or by phone from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mon.-Fri. at 1-866-400-WASL
(9275).
