Community, district to say goodbye to Superintendent

After nine years as Superintendent at the Renton School District and nearly 40 years in education, Renton Schools Superintendent Dr. Dolores Gibbons is retiring at the end of this school year.

Everyone is invited to the retirement celebration for Dr. Gibbons on June 23, 3 to 6 p.m. at the Spirit of Washington Event Center, 233 Burnett Ave. South, Renton (at the downtown Piazza, next to the city's parking garage; Mapquest map). There will be a short program fro 4 to 4:30 p.m. The event is being paid for through private donations.

Community members may wish to honor Dr. Gibbons' service in education with a donation to the "Renton Community Foundation Dolores Gibbons Scholarship Fund."
