Books For Kids RIF Project at Sierra Heights

April 5, 2000 - Sierra Heights Elementary K-3 students are invited to attend the second of three Books For Kids RIF Project book distribution events on April 25 in the school cafeteria. To accommodate busy family schedules, two distribution sessions are planned - one at 3:45 pm and one at 6:30 pm. Students attending one of these sessions with a parent will be able to select a free brand new book.

Sierra Heigths staff and community are working together to improve reading skills, interest and enjoyment of reading for the K-3 children through a Books For Kids grant. 113 students and their parent(s) attended the first book session held March 16.

Since its inception in 1990, Books For Kids RIF Project has distributed over 400,000 new books to over 145,000 children is schools qualifying and awarded this grant. Sierra Heights is grateful to be participating in this worthwhile project.
