Renton School Board Soliciting Applicants

Nov 2, 1999 - The Renton School Board of Directors is soliciting letters of interest from applicants for the Director District No. 5 seat which became vacant with the death of Beverly G. Barfield. Director District No. 5 represents the areas of Kennydale, Sierra Heights, and parts of the Highlands in North Renton.

To be legally eligible for the office of school director a person must be a: citizen of the United States; registered voter in the school district; and reside in the director district to be served.

Upon receipt of a letter of interest, an information packet containing a cover letter explaining the appointment process, an overview of the roles and responsibilities of a board member, and a map of the Renton School Director Districts will be sent.

Letters may be sent to the Renton School Board, c/o Becky Nickels, executive assistant, 300 SW 7th St., Renton, 98055. They may also be faxed to (425) 204-2456, e-mailed to bnickels@renton.wednet.edu, or delivered in person. Letters of interest must be received by November 12.
