Renton Teachers and Local Organizations
Receive
$30,000 in Grants
January 14, 2005 - Ten Renton teachers,
a three-member teaching team at Hillcrest Special Services,
elementary and middle school PTSAs and 21 other local community
organizations today received a combined $30,000 in grant money
from the Renton Community Foundation Circle of Giving and Maxwell
Fund for Youth and Families.
The money is granted as part of
the annual Circle of Giving campaign created by the Renton
Community Foundation board and supported by the generous donations
of local individuals to create a legacy of philanthropic giving
and shape the future of Renton communities. Additional financial
support was provided by the Maxwell Fund for Youth & Families,
created by Renton School Board member Marcie Maxwell and her
husband Steve, to empower the youth of Renton through
support for education and literacy. This wonderful venture
helps cultivate an atmosphere of growth and strength in the
community, making it an exceptional place to live, learn, work
and play.
