Schools and State Offices Open Friday June 11
June 7, 2004 - President
Bush's executive order closing federal government offices
out of
respect for the passing of former President Ronald Reagan
will not effect school districts and other state agencies.
Governor Gary Locke today determined that Friday,
June 11 will not be a state holiday, as extending a holiday
to all
state workers would require action by the legislature.
The president
also directed all agencies to fly flags at half-staff for
a 30 day period, until July 6, in remembrance of the passing
of former president Reagan.
