Three Renton School Board Members
on November 4 Ballot
November 4 is election day in Washington state. Local voters have
opportunities to vote for school board candidates, mayor for the
City of Renton, Renton council positions and more.
Three Renton School District board members are on the ballot.
Lynn Desmarais, David Merrill and Joy Poff are running for re-election.
Desmarais and Merrill are unopposed on the ballot. Joy Poff is
challenged by Will Jones.
Poff has served on the board for 16 years as
board president and chairing numerous committees. Jones has been
active in PTA groups
serving as legislative chair for the past two years. (Read more

Important dates for the Nov. 4 election:
- Voters must now be registered
to vote. If you’re a
new voter (registering for the first time in King County),
you must register
in person by Oct. 20, at the King County Election office at
500 4th Ave., Room 552, Seattle.
- Absentee ballots will be mailed the
week of Oct. 13.
- Remember to vote Nov. 4 (Absentee ballots must
be postmarked by that day.)
