The WASL - An Opportunity
for Families to Find Out What it is All About Monday,
April 7, 2003 - Hazen High School Auditorium
Students in Washington State take the
WASL, Washington Assessment of Student learning, in the 4th, 7th
and 10th grade. Parents and guardians often express a wide range
of questions and concerns when it comes time for their students
to take this test. Parents and interested community or family members
are invited to this presentation featuring Greg Hall, Assistant
Superintendent for Assessment and Research for the State of Washington.
Hazen Principal, Rick Stubrud, and Jacquie
Monks, Staff Development Coordinator, will join Mr. Hall in a panel
discussion followed by an opportunity for questions and answers
from the audience. You will have an opportunity to learn how the
WASL relates to the move to standards based instruction, how it
is different from the familiar norm reference tests traditional
to our school experience, why people are talking about the WASL
and high school graduation, and how the WASL makes a difference
in the lives of teachers. Please mark your calendar and join us!
