April 2003 - The Outstanding Employee Award, given to district staff each year by the Renton School Board, recognizes significant contributions of staff to school and district programs and projects and on various committees or organizations. More than 25 staff members who demonstrate a high level of job performance, active support and dedication were nominated for the award.

The winners in each category are:
Elementary Teacher:
Ann Braaten, First Grade Teacher at Sierra Heights Elementary School
Secondary Teacher:
Colleen Fox, Science Teacher at Hazen High School
Building Support Person:
Claire Engelbrecht, Speech Language Pathologist at Thomson School
District Support Person:
Susan Lander, Director of Health Services
