Technology and Construction Bond Election May 20, 2003

Equity: Something for every student and staff member

Voters in the Renton School District have a chance to approve a school technology and building improvement bond measure on May 20, 2003. Absentee ballots will be mailed out about the end of April. Every child at every school will benefit from work planned in this measure. This measure was presented to voters in February and received outstanding support, acquiring 59.95 percent of positive votes but failing to reach the 60 percent “supermajority” mark. Of the 15,881 votes cast, the issue failed by just seven votes. Community support to place the issues back before voters has been overwhelming.
