Renton's "Business Committed to Kids" Award

Nominations are now being accepted for businesses who do business within the Renton School District boundaries, provide a significant level of involvement to help youth in our community, and are willing to be honored by the community and share their story.

Businesses will be selected by representatives of the City of Renton, Communities In Schools of Renton, Renton Chamber of Commerce, Renton Education Association and Renton School District.

Selection will be based on the level of involvement with youth including:

Career exploration opportunities

Job shadowing opportunities

Employee release time to work with students

Family friendly work policies

Money or resources given to help programs designed to help students succeed

Involvement with youth programs or other youth initiatives in the community

Sponsoring individual youth and assisting them in succeeding in school and life

Other activities which resulted in increased support for kids

Please fill out a nomination form and send it, together with two letters of support to:

The award will be announced in December 2002. Please note that this award is presented twice a year. Any nomination not selected will be kept on file for consideration for the next award.
