Spirit of Community Awards
October 2001
- Do you know a young person working to make their community a
better place to live? The Prudential Insurance Company of America
and the National Association of Secondary School Principals are
looking to honor many of this countrys outstanding youth
volunteers through the seventh annual Prudential Spirit of Community
Awards. The program honors outstanding community service by young
people in grades 5-12.
Students must
submit completed applications by Oct. 31, 2001. Application forms
for the awards program will be available over the next two months
in middle schools and high schools, Girl Scout councils, and county
4-H offices. They may also be obtained via the Internet at: http://www.prudential.com/community/spirit
or by calling 1-888-450-9961.
The top two candidates
from each state one middle school student and one high
school student will receive $1,000, engraved silver medallions
and an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. in May 2002.
Runners-up will receive bronze medallions or Certificates of Excellence.
