'SODO MOJO' Fever at
Hazelwood
Mariner fever is catching at Hazelwood Elementary
and the school was featured in a KOMO 4 news story on October
6. Students at the school are joining in on the excitement of
the playoffs while continuing their studies.
Kindergartners learned how to make dough and shaped
it into baseball gloves, bats and baseballs. They also practiced
singing and learned "Take Me Out to the Ball Game." Fifth graders
are practicing their math skills as students were assigned a Mariner
player to keep statistics on throughout the series.
"We have such creative and innovative teachers,"
commented Principal Mary Ford. "The exciting activities keep the
kids focused on education while watching a major sports event."
Who says school can't be fun?!
