Dimmitt
Community Helps Students Become Better Readers'
Parents, staff and community members
are helping Dimmitt students become better readers by donating
new or used books in good condition. Dimmitt Middle School, under
the leadership of Librarian Miki Pryne, conducted its first-ever
book drive from November 17 through December 15.
As part of the schools Accelerated
Reader Program, Pryne organized a book drive to provide additional
quality literature for students to read during reading advisory
period or at home.
We more than reached our goal of 1,500
books. The school will celebrate with a dance, said Pryne. The
class that brought in the most books won an ice-cream party.
