We have a strong tradition of parent, teacher, and community cooperation and volunteerism supporting our children's emotional and educational needs. Contact Nancy DeChenne at dech4@comcast.net or Shannon Luedtke at shandoug2@yahoo.com for more information. Everyone is welcome to attend meetings.

Maplewood Leadership Team

The Maplewood Heights Leadership Team is made up of teachers, specialists and building administrators that represent all specialists and grade level groups. The Leadership Team members work collaboratively with their assigned groups to streamline the decision making process and to be sure that all stakeholders are represented. The Leadership Team addresses school-wide issues that are outside the scope of other committees. The team focuses on improving student achievement and developing procedures that support a safe and positive learning environment for the students and staff.

Maplewood Climate Committee

The Climate Committee is comprised of classroom teachers and specialists. The committee addresses issues and develops school-wide activities that create an environment that is accepting of individual differences, cultural traditions and encourages families of all languages and ethnic backgrounds to participate in school functions. Recognizing the growing cultural diversity of our student population and community, this committee seeks to increase understanding of our similarities and differences by creating a school environment that models the positive results of this acceptance.

The Math Committee has been assisting with the implementation of our newly adopted math curriculum, Investigations. In addition to our successful Family Math Night, we are working on additional ways to increase parent participation in developing the math skills of our students. We routinely review and update the math goals in our School Improvement Plan to best meet the needs of our population.
