ECEAP Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program
Program Description
The Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) is a comprehensive stat funded preschool program providing early childhood programs for low income preschool children and their families. Modeled after the federally funded Head Start program, ECEAP experiences include:
- Early childhood education services
- Nutrition services
- Health screenings and follow-up
- Family support
- Family involvement and leadership opportunities
ECEAP preschool provides wonderful early learning opportunities for preschool-aged students living within the Renton School District boundaries. Preschool-aged children experience pre-kindergarten learning in a structured and nurturing environment. The ECEAP preschool encourages parent and extended family involvement and offers evening activities for families regularly throughout the school year.
Program Details
Renton School District offers four sessions of ECEAP preschool at Hillcrest Early Childhood Center. Each session includes one teacher and one assistant. ECEAP students attend classes two days per week (Mondays and Wednesdays OR Tuesdays and Thursdays) from 9:45 AM to 3:45 PM. ECEAP children are provided with breakfast and lunch as a part of the program’s nutrition services.
Eligibility Requirements
For a child to participate in the ECEAP preschool program, families must meet the following criteria:
- Income: families must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for the ECEAP preschool program
- Age: children must turn 4 years-old by August 31st.
- Address: families must live within the Renton School District boundaries
