Welcome to Hazelwood Elementary, an exciting place to learn! Hazelwood has a long history of a very supportive and active parent community and a staff committed to developing well-rounded learners. We are fortunate to be a part of such a caring community.

We believe that parents are their child’s primary teacher and learning is a life-long process. It is our responsibility as adults to support and respectfully guide children as they become healthy, happy and responsible citizens. As elementary educators, we have the privilege of being at the foundation for a child’s future success. Our dedicated staff is committed to helping students acquire strong basic skills, grow in self-understanding, develop self-discipline, and explore the exciting world around them.

We believe that parents are our partners in the important job of educating the children of this community and your involvement is essential for your child’s overall success. Working together, child, parent, school and community, we can help every child realize their greatest potential. We hope to see that all Hazelwood families are active members of the PTSA by helping to organize and/or participate in co-curricular activities.

Our children thrive when parents provide their child with a loving, respectful, safe home with clear expectations and communication. The greatest and easiest involvement on your part in your child’s education is the positive attitude and encouragement you provide your child at home toward school, as it impacts the importance your child places on their education not just today, but in years to come.
