Diversity
Advisory Committee
Meets to assist in promoting
an awareness and understanding of diversity, providing input
on adding multicultural and other diversity perspectives
to the curriculum, and recruiting district personnel who value
diversity. A 12-member committee.

Site-Based Decision Making Councils
Meeting times and opportunities vary by
building. Members have a voice in decisions that affect
instructional programs and operations at the individual school
level. Councils
are at varying states of development throughout the district.

Meets monthly to help direct the development
of Site-Based Decision Making in the district. The committee

Strategic Planning
Meetings provide opportunities for citizens
to participate in the district's strategic planning process.
Action teams form in the Fall to address specific topics
and a steering committee meets in the Spring for an annual
review
of the strategic plan.

Renton
Communities In Schools Board
Meets the first Thursday of each month,
5:30-7:00 p.m. to provide direction to Communities In
Schools of Renton, a partnership of the school district, the
City of
Renton, and local agencies that provide social, health,
and education services to students and their families.

Construction Advisory Committee
(CAC)
Meets as needed during the school year
to serve as a sounding board and advisory group to
the facilities staff and district bond construction projects.
Initially formed
after passage of the 1992 construction bond. A seven-member
committee representing engineers, builders, business, the
school
board, parents and the community-at-large.

Advisory Committee (ERC)

classroom units, and other enrollment topics. Makes recommendations
