Dear Bryn Mawr Families
I am honored and excited to be the new principal at Bryn Mawr Elementary and am looking forward to a very positive and productive year! I have been meeting staff, parents, and students throughout the summer and have been truly impressed with the dedication and caring that is embraced by everyone. It is clear that the Bryn Mawr community puts student learning and achievement first and I am proud to join such a team.
I come to Bryn Mawr with 27 years of experience under my belt, which includes 17 years of teaching elementary and 7 years of teaching middle school. For the past 3 years, I have been an assistant principal at Kent-Meridian High School in Kent. Now, joining the Bryn Mawr team and Renton School District is like returning home. I am a Renton High School graduate; had my first paraeducator job at the Griffin Home; did my student teaching at Benson Hill Elementary; taught summer school at Thomson; and have a brother and sister who attended Bryn Mawr Elementary…it's great to be back!
Outside of school I read, watch movies, and spend time with friends and family. My husband is an administrator at a school in Seattle, my daughter graduated from the University of Washington and works for the airlines, and my son is a senior at the University of Washington. Both my husband and I graduated from the University of Washington – so we are true Huskies through and through.
Bryn Mawr has a rich history and a tradition of community involvement and support. We look to our families to join us in celebrating our accomplishments and doing whatever it takes to help our students succeed. Your involvement and participation are always welcome and are keys to Bryn Mawr’s continued success. Please join our PTSA, sign up to be a tutor or mentor, volunteer to help in the classroom, or help out in the office…we are open to ideas and suggestions so call us at 425-204-4150! We would love to hear from you.
The staff and I are looking forward to this 2007-08 school year and the wonderful things we will do together!
